> Job Details
> Helmholtz Zentrum München is a globally leading center for research on health and environment. Research focuses on developing new options to improve personal and environmental health. The Institutes of Structural Biology and Medicinal Chemistry have established a joint platform for structure- and fragment-based drug discovery, which integrates NMR methods, computational approaches, and chemical synthesis to develop and apply novel approaches beyond current state-of-the-art for the discovery of new targets and therapeutic small molecules. Therapeutic targets address a range of topics, ranging from diabetes, lung disease to targets in parasitic diseases and antibiotic resistance.
>
> To strengthen our team we are currently looking for postdoctoral scientists in NMR, computational chemistry or medicinal chemistry. One position is focused on novel NMR methods and application to study protein-ligand interactions. The candidate should have outstanding experience in NMR experiment/method development.
> Experience with paramagnetic NMR methods and fragment screening will be highly appreciated.
>
> The position is available immediately, an initial term of employment is two years with a possible prolongation depending on results and funding availability.
>
> Qualifications
> Doctoral degree in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, computer sciences or related
> Demonstrated experience in one of the areas mentioned above
> Strong motivation to contribute novel ideas to healthcare
> Creativity and a strong commitment to team work.
> Strong communication and organizational skills are expected
> Our Offer
> Postdoctoral scientist position in the Institute of Structural Biology at Helmholtz Zentrum München
> Working in an interdiscipliniary team with structural, computational biologists and medicinal chemists
> Innovative research focused on treatment of important human diseases.
> Working in a vibrating and scientifically stimulating environment with excellent facilities for structural biology (crystallography, NMR, medicinal chemistry, protein biochemistry, cell biology, imaging, animal models, and more).
> Excellent academic and industrial networking opportunities.
> Support in developing management skills
