Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to invite you to attend IUBMB.IUPAB – Advanced School 2018:
“Protein-protein and protein-membrane interaction: experimental and
theoretical approaches” to be held in Varadero Beach, Matanzas, Cuba (22nd
-26th October, 2018),

Biophysical experimental methods and bimolecular simulations are crucial for
understanding protein-protein and protein-membrane interactions.

The School is oriented to postgraduates and young researchers interested in
fundamental knowledge on the state of the art of experimental and
theoretical studies of protein-protein and protein-membrane interactions,
essentials for biotechnology and bio-nanosciences.

The main goal of the course is to allow understanding and incorporating
these topics into participants´ research and teaching activities and share
their experiences with lecturers and peers.

The course has been conceived in 16 lectures in the mornings and exchange
sessions during afternoons between lecturers and students. Scientific
discussions between students and lecturers will be encouraged in other
spaces as well.

Attendance of Young Postgraduates

It is foreseen that around 50 young scientists from different geographical
regions could attend the Advanced School. They will be partially or
completely financially supported by IUBMB and IUPAB grants as well as other
sponsors. Based on candidate´s age-Curriculum Vitae, area of professional
research/interest, and a letter explaining her/his interest in the course,
the academic committee of the course will decide the acceptance of
candidates to support their participation. Some Cuban young scientists will
be also supported by the National Cuban Societies of Physics and Chemistry
as well as the Center for Molecular Immunology (CIM), The Center for Genetic
Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB), the Center for Drug Research and
Development (CIDEM) and the University of Havana (UH). The attendance of
young scientist will be partially or totally supported according to the
candidate conditions and final budget granted.

To our successful applicants we will provide:

*	free access to the School/Workshop (no registration fee) including
accommodation in an all-included hotel at the school venue
*	bus transfer from Havana to the venue (Varadero) and back to Havana

Unfortunately, we have not enough funding to cover international travel
expenses

This course will validate credits for the PosLatAm program. So, students
from PosLatAm are encouraged to apply. IUPAB will cover partial expenses of
PosLatAm selected students!

Please declare in your documents whether you are included in the PosLatAm
Program.
