SUMMARY:20th NMR Users Meeting (2025)
DESCRIPTION:This 20th Meeting will present new advances in the different areas of application of NMR\, including all theoretical and experimental aspects of this technique\, such as its applications in the study of natural products\, pharmaceuticals\, food\, biomolecules\, polymers and catalysts\, as well as research in the areas of petroleum and petrochemistry\, biofuels\, materials science\, organic chemistry\, inorganic chemistry\, theoretical chemistry\, analytical chemistry\, environmental chemistry\, biochemistry\, physics\, physiology\, geology and medicine. Other Magnetic Resonance techniques will also be covered at the event\, such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)\, Multinuclear Magnetic Resonance\, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (continuous and pulsed wave applications)\, Electron-Nuclear Double Resonance\, Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance and Mössbauer Spectroscopy. \nThe event will bring together professors and researchers\, expert users of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) in Brazil and Latin America (both from industry and academia)\, as well as post-doctorates and graduate and undergraduate students interested in the technique. The event will be attended by approximately 200 participants\, including chemists\, physicists\, biophysicists\, biochemists\, biologists\, pharmacists\, geologists\, researchers and technicians from industry and suppliers of equipment\, accessories and supplies necessary for NMR. \nIt is clear that the dissemination\, understanding and use of NMR techniques are essential for the technological development of the country. DESCRIPTION:Program: \nDecember 2nd: NMR A to Z presentation \n– Begins with simple 1D 1H and 13C spectral considerations. \n– Progresses to the standard suite of 2D experiments routinely employed (by me anyway) for structure elucidation including COSY\, HSQC\, HMBC\, and HSQC-TOCSY \n– Introduces the family of ADEQUATE experiments\, anisotropic NMR methods\, and wraps up with i-HMBC that we developed just over a year ago that differentiated 2JCH from 3JCH HMBC correlations on the basis of sub-ppb (PPB not typo) isotope shifts. \nDecember 4th: Florfenicol – Small Drug Molecule Lecture \n– Walks students through the basic suite of 1D and 2D NMR techniques. \n– Introduces the aspects of multiple halogenation (-Cl and -F) on chemical shift and using heteronuclear JCF coupling as assignment critera. \nDecember 6th: Platensimycin – Complex Natural Product Characterization Lecture \n– When platensimycin was first isolated and characterized it was necessary to utilize multiple solvent techniques due to proton overlap. \n– Structural characterization using modern techniques including IDR-HSQC-TOCSY\, 1\,1- and 1\,n-ADEQUATE\, and i-HMBC will be described. \n  \nRegistration\nAUREMN Members – FREE \nAUREMN Non-members – R$ 300\,00

This is undoubtedly the largest NMR event in Latin America. SUMMARY:19th NMR Users Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Since its inauguration in 1988\, AUREMN has been working continuously for the dissemination of NMR and its scientific and technological advancement in Brazil. During this period\, the number of superconducting spectrometers in Brazil increased from 1 to 160\, approximately. The number of NMR experts has been growing steadily\, driven initially by the AUREMN courses\, which are offered annually since 1988. Due to these advances catalyzed by AUREMN\, Brazil now occupies a prominent role in NMR worldwide\, being one of the most developed countries in NMR in Central and South America. \nThe 19th NMR Users Meeting will be held at the Riale Brisa Barra Hotel\, located by the Barra da Tijuca beach\, Rio de Janeiro\, Brazil\, from 25th to 29th September 2023. \nThe meeting brings together senior and junior scientists\, post-docs as well as graduate and undergraduate students\, from academia and industry\, creating a unique integrative atmosphere for networking. We expect an attendance of about 200 participants from chemists\, physicists\, biophysicists\, biochemists\, biologists\, pharmacists\, geologists\, researchers\, and industry experts. We also expect the participation of companies that supply spectrometers\, accessories and reagents necessary for NMR. \nThe scientific program has significant international participation and covers a broad range of state-of-the-art interdisciplinary research in various areas of NMR spectroscopy\, such as organic chemistry\, inorganic chemistry\, theoretical chemistry\, analytical chemistry\, environmental chemistry\, biochemistry\, physics\, material science\, geology\, physiology\, and medicine. At the meeting\, new advances in theoretical and experimental aspects of different NMR applications will be presented\, including the study of natural products\, pharmaceuticals\, food\, biomolecules\, polymers\, catalysts\, oil\, and biofuels. In addition\, the conference covers various topics in other Magnetic Resonance techniques\, such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging\, Multinuclear Magnetic Resonance\, Electronic Paramagnetic Resonance\, Double Resonance Electron Nucleus\, Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance\, and Mössbauer spectroscopy. \nWe are certain that the diffusion\, research\, understanding\, and use of Magnetic Resonance techniques are essential for the technological development of our country. DESCRIPTION:A IV Escola Brasileira de RMN será realizada no campus da UNESP\, em São José do Rio Preto (SP)\, de 19 a 26 de janeiro de 2020\, seguida do curso complementar “BioNMR”\, que ocorrerá de 27 de janeiro a 2 de fevereiro de 2020. \n\n\n\nReconhecendo a importância da formação de estudantes para o fortalecimento da área de Ressonância Magnética Nuclear no Brasil\, a AUREMN lançou\, em 2017\, o Programa de Formação Compartilhada em RMN\, carinhosamente denominado Escola de RMN. \n\n\n\nEsse programa tem contribuído significativamente para o avanço da RMN no país\, com a realização de cursos e eventos que envolvem não apenas especialistas nacionais\, mas também renomados pesquisadores internacionais. \n\n\n\nA Escola tem como objetivo oferecer uma formação científica de excelência aos profissionais da área de RMN\, com apoio de professores e pesquisadores de diversas instituições de ensino superior do Brasil. A realização dos cursos em um único local e período favorece a integração entre alunos e profissionais\, promovendo o intercâmbio de experiências e o crescimento da comunidade científica.
