DESCRIPTION:Program: \nDecember 2nd: NMR A to Z presentation \n– Begins with simple 1D 1H and 13C spectral considerations. \n– Progresses to the standard suite of 2D experiments routinely employed (by me anyway) for structure elucidation including COSY\, HSQC\, HMBC\, and HSQC-TOCSY \n– Introduces the family of ADEQUATE experiments\, anisotropic NMR methods\, and wraps up with i-HMBC that we developed just over a year ago that differentiated 2JCH from 3JCH HMBC correlations on the basis of sub-ppb (PPB not typo) isotope shifts. \nDecember 4th: Florfenicol – Small Drug Molecule Lecture \n– Walks students through the basic suite of 1D and 2D NMR techniques. \n– Introduces the aspects of multiple halogenation (-Cl and -F) on chemical shift and using heteronuclear JCF coupling as assignment critera. \nDecember 6th: Platensimycin – Complex Natural Product Characterization Lecture \n– When platensimycin was first isolated and characterized it was necessary to utilize multiple solvent techniques due to proton overlap. \n– Structural characterization using modern techniques including IDR-HSQC-TOCSY\, 1\,1- and 1\,n-ADEQUATE\, and i-HMBC will be described. \n  \nRegistration\nAUREMN Members – FREE \nAUREMN Non-members – R$ 300\,00
